Celtics Exec to Call Celtics Games on CSN
- Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge will serve as an analyst for select Celtics games on Comcast SportsNet New England this season, the Boston Globe reported Tuesday. Ainge, who had two forgettable stints with TNT in the 1990s and 2000s, will be part of a rotation of analysts CSNNE plans to use for road games. (Boston Globe via Sports Business Daily)
Avery Johnson Rejoins ESPN
- ESPN has re-hired former NBA analyst Avery Johnson, the network announced Wednesday. Johnson, who will make appearances on “SportsCenter” and NBA studio shows, worked for the network from 2008-10 before leaving for an ill-fated run with the Nets. (ESPN Media Zone)
CBS Team to Call Rescheduled Game on NFL Network
- The CBS NFL broadcast team of Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts will call Sunday’s Chargers/Raiders game on NFL Network. The game was originally scheduled to air on CBS at 4:25 PM ET, but was pushed back to 11:35 PM on NFL Network to accommodate the MLB playoffs. (NFL Communications)
