The end of the Red Sox/Rays series attracted the largest audience of the playoffs on TBS.
Tuesday’s Game 4 of the Red Sox/Rays American League Division Series earned 5.2 million viewers on TBS, even with Orioles/Yankees Game 4 in an earlier timeslot last year (5.2M), and up 43% from Brewers/Diamondbacks Game 4 in a later timeslot two years ago (3.6M).
The game ranks as the most-viewed of the postseason, topping the previous high of 4.7 million for the Rays/Indians Wild Card game.
Earlier in the day, Game 4 between the A’s and Tigers drew 3.8 million viewers — up 12% from Cardinals/Nationals Game 4 last year (3.4M), but down 16% from Phillies/Cardinals Game 4 in 2011 (4.5M).
Entering Wednesday’s action, the 2013 MLB Postseason has averaged a 2.4 U.S. rating and 3.7 million viewers on TBS — up a tick in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (2.3, 3.4M), and a three-year high.
