Though not as big a draw as 49ers/Packers the previous week, Chargers/Broncos easily earned the top overnight of the NFL’s Divisional Round.
The Chargers/Broncos NFL Divisional Round game drew a 25.1 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 6% from Texans/Patriots last year (23.8), but down 8% from Giants/Packers on FOX in 2012 (27.4). The 25.1 was easily the highest overnight of the Divisional Round.
Ranking second for the week, Sunday’s 49ers/Panthers game earned a 21.8 overnight on FOX — up 2% from Seahawks/Falcons last year (21.3), and up 6% from Texans/Ravens on CBS in 2011 (20.6). The 21.8 is the second-highest for the early Sunday Divisional Round window since at least the 1997-98 season, trailing only Cowboys/Vikings in 2010 (23.9).
Shifting to the Saturday games, Colts/Patriots scored a 19.4 overnight on CBS in primetime — up 4% from Packers/49ers on FOX last year (18.7), but down 6% from Broncos/Patriots in 2011 (20.6).
The early Saints/Seahawks game drew a 19.5 overnight on FOX, down 10% from Ravens/Broncos on CBS last year (21.6), and down 10% from Saints/49ers in 2011 (21.7). The 19.5 is the lowest for the early Saturday window since Cardinals/Saints in 2010 (17.9).
