One day after hitting a four-year low, FOX hit a four-year high for its second game of the NFL Divisional Round.
Sunday’s 49ers/Panthers NFC Divisional Round game drew a 19.9 final rating and 33.3 million viewers on FOX, up 3% in ratings and 11% in viewership from Seahawks/Falcons last year (19.3, 32.1M), and up 5% and 8%, respectively, from Texans/Ravens in 2012 (19.0, 31.0M).
49ers/Panthers ranks as the highest rated and most-viewed early Sunday Divisional Round game since Cowboys/Vikings in 2010 (22.0, 37.7M).
Locally, the game earned a 42.1 rating in Charlotte and a 35.8 in the Bay Area.
Through Sunday, FOX has averaged a 21.3 rating and 37.2 million viewers for NFL playoff coverage (three telecasts). According to FOX, the 2013 postseason-to-date has been the network’s highest rated since 1997 and most-viewed ever.
