For the second straight year, overnight ratings dropped for the Women’s Final Four.
Sunday’s Connecticut/Stanford Women’s NCAA Tournament Final Four game earned a 1.6 overnight rating on ESPN, according to Sports Business Daily — down 16% from Connecticut/Notre Dame last year (1.9) and down 27% from Baylor/Stanford in 2012 (2.2).
The 1.6 is the lowest in the window since at least 2008. Overnights for the late window have declined or held steady in four consecutive years.
Earlier in the night, the Notre Dame/Maryland game earned a 1.2 overnight — down 20% from Louisville/Cal last year (1.5) and down 33% from Notre Dame/Connecticut in 2012 (1.8). The 1.2 is the lowest for any Women’s Final Four game since at least 2008.
