Overnight ratings were the lowest in six years for Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Game 4 of the Spurs/Heat NBA Finals drew a 10.6 overnight rating on ABC Thursday night, down 12% from the same match-up last year (12.0), down 15% from Thunder/Heat in 2012 (12.4), and the lowest Game 4 overnight since Celtics/Lakers in 2008 (10.4).
The 10.6 is the second-lowest for a Game 4 involving the Heat (five telecasts), ahead of only Mavericks/Heat in 2006 (9.1). It ranks third out of the six Game 4 telecasts to involve the Spurs.
Despite the six-year low, Thursday’s 10.6 overnight ranks as the highest of the series thus far. The previous mark was a 10.4 for Game 1 the previous week.
Locally, Game 4 earned a 28.8 rating in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale — down 16% from last year (34.2) and down 17% from 2012 (34.6). The game earned a 47.4 in San Antonio, up 9% from last year (43.7) but down 2% from the clinching game of Spurs/Cavaliers in 2007 (48.1).
