Cincinnati Reds local TV ratings are again among the best in Major League Baseball. In other news, ratings for the Kansas City Royals are down only slightly from last year’s record numbers, and NASCAR’s Nationwide race from Daytona had a decline on ESPN.
Reds Ratings Third-Best in MLB
- Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball games have averaged a 6.4 rating on Fox Sports Ohio this season, the third-highest local average the league behind only the Tigers and Cardinals. The Reds finished last season with the fourth-highest average. Monday’s Cubs/Reds game earned a 9.6 rating on the FS Ohio, trailing only an Opening Day simulcast as the top rated game of the season. Royals Ratings Just Behind Last Year’s Pace
- Fox Sports Kansas City averaged a 5.8 rating for Royals games through the end of June, down 1% from the comparable point last year. Keep in mind last season was the highest rated ever on FSKC and included numerous ratings records. Royals ratings improved from 5.1 in May to 6.5 in June. (KCWH-CBS)
Nationwide at Daytona Down For 4th-Straight Year
- Friday’s rain-delayed NASCAR Nationwide Series race from Daytona earned 1.8 million viewers on ESPN2, down 9% from last year (1.9M), down 14% from 2012 (2.0M), and the fourth straight edition of the race to decline from the previous year.
