Boosted by a marquee match-up involving the league’s highest-profile team, the NFL singleheader hit a season-high on FOX.
The Week 9 NFL singleheader window, featuring Cardinals/Cowboys in 63% of markets, drew a 14.3 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 12% from coverage featuring featuring Vikings/Cowboys last year (12.8) and up 27% from coverage featuring Cardinals/Packers in 2012 (11.3).
The 14.3 is easily the highest of the season for the singleheader, topping the previous mark of 12.8 set in Week 5. That telecast also featured the Cardinals.
The singleheader ranked comfortably ahead of NBC’s Sunday Night Football (11.9), marking the second straight week that it has topped SNF. Overall, the last three singleheader windows on FOX — Week 5, Week 8 and Week 9 — have tied or topped the corresponding Sunday night game.
