Chris Webber will be Turner Sports’ top NBA game analyst during the postseason. In other news, Doug Flutie will again serve as a Notre Dame game analyst, and NBC Sports has hired a pair of NASCAR broadcasters.
Webber Gets Top Spot on TNT NBA Roster
- TNT NBA analyst Chris Webber will work alongside Marv Albert on the network’s top NBA Playoffs broadcast team. At the start of the season, Webber was part of a rotation with Grant Hill and Greg Anthony to determine who would get the top spot. Hill, who was the lead analyst on CBS/Turner Sports’ NCAA Tournament coverage, will analyze games on NBA TV. Anthony, as is well known, was suspended for the season after a January arrest. Flutie to Call Notre Dame Spring Game
- NBC Sports football analyst Doug Flutie will join Dan Hicks in the booth for Saturday’s Notre Dame spring football game, his third straight Notre Dame assignment as a game analyst. Flutie started last season in the studio before switching places with then-game analyst Mike Mayock toward the end of the year. NBC has yet to officially announce that Flutie will be the lead analyst going forward. (NBC Sports Group Press Box)
NBC Adds Sheheen, Evernham
- Former NASCAR on TNT lap-by-lap voice Ralph Sheheen and former ESPN NASCAR analyst Ray Evernham have joined NBC Sports in the same capacities, it was announced this week. Sheheen and Evernham will form the broadcast team for NBC Sports’ coverage of NASCAR’s Whelen Modified tours, with their debut telecast scheduled to air on tape delay early Saturday morning (the race took place last week).
