- NBC will air third round coverage of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship live in primetime May 2, immediately following the network’s coverage of the Kentucky Derby. NASCAR: Food City 500 in Support of Steve Byrnes and Stand Up to Cancer (1 PM ET Sunday, FOX)
- Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Bristol will pay tribute to Fox Sports NASCAR broadcaster Steve Byrnes, who is battling a recurrence of head and neck cancer. The race, normally titled the Food City 500, will this year be called the “Food City 500 in Support of Steve Byrnes and Stand Up to Cancer.” Byrnes has broadcast NASCAR events on Fox Sports since the latter began airing races in 2001.
