Premier League coverage was not much of a draw on cable last weekend, but did well on the NBC broadcast network.
Last Saturday’s Leicester City/Manchester United English Premier League match had 1.0 million viewers on NBC, the network’s fifth of ten EPL telecasts this season to earn at least one million viewers. By comparison, only two matches at the comparable point last year topped the million mark.
There were no comparable matches last year or in 2013, as week fourteen of the season consisted of mid-week games in both years.
Shifting to cable, Liverpool/Swansea City was the top draw with 363,000 viewers on NBCSN Sunday morning — marking the first time all season that the week’s top match on cable had fewer than 400,000 viewers. Tottenham/Chelsea had 310,000 and West Ham/West Brom 272,000 on USA Network earlier in the morning.
Rounding out the week fourteen slate, NBCSN drew 341,000 for Manchester City/Southampton last Saturday morning.
