Ratings for the Arnold Palmer Invitational were the best since Tiger Woods last won.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour at Bay Hill earned a 1.9 final rating and 2.9 million viewers on NBC last Sunday, up a tick in ratings and 11% in viewership from last year (1.8, 2.6M) and up 36% and 48%, respectively, from 2014 (1.4, 1.9M).
The 1.9 rating is the highest for any round of the event since third round coverage in 2013 (2.0) and the highest for final round coverage since 2012 (4.3). Woods won in both years. Excluding years in which Woods won, Sunday’s 1.9 rating is tied as the highest for coverage of the event since Vijay Singh‘s victory in 2007.
Sunday marked the fourth time in six weeks that ratings and viewership have increased for final round PGA Tour coverage, with Pebble Beach, Doral, and the Honda Classic also posting gains.
Third round action last Saturday pulled a 1.1 and 1.7 million, up a tick in ratings and 18% in viewership from last year (1.0, 1.4M) and up a tick and 23%, respectively, from 2014 (1.0, 1.3M).
