Mixed Results For College Hoops on CBS
- Iowa/Ohio State college basketball scored a 1.6 final rating and 2.5 million viewers on CBS last Sunday, up 23% in ratings and 24% in viewership from Michigan State/Wisconsin last year (1.3, 2.0M). The early Duke/Pittsburgh game had a 1.1 (+38%) and 1.7 million (+39%). On Saturday, Kentucky/Vanderbilt drew a 1.2 and 1.9 million — down 37% and 35%, respectively, from Arkansas/Kentucky last year (1.9, 2.9M). Earlier, Oklahoma/Texas had a 0.9 (-18%) and 1.3 million (-12%) and Butler/Georgetown a 0.8 (+14%) and 1.1 million (+22%). The comparable 2014 ratings were not available. (via Sports Business Daily)
Capitals/Blackhawks Up on NBC
- NBC scored a 0.8 final rating and 1.2 million viewers for the Capitals/Blackhawks NHL regular season game last Sunday, up a tick in ratings and 22% in viewership from Flyers/Capitals in 2014 (0.7, 1.0M). There was no comparable game last year. As previously reported, the Red Wings/Avalanche Stadium Series game had a 1.0 and 1.7 million. (via SBD)
NHRA Up Again on Fox Sports 1
- Live NHRA racing from Phoenix scored 645,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1 last Sunday, up 10% from last year (589K) and up 59% from 2014 (407K), both of which were tape delayed on ESPN2. The NHRA ranked seventh for the week on FS1, behind a mix of NASCAR races, practices and pre-race shows. (via Awful Announcing)
