Formula 1 viewership continues to decline on NBCSN. In other news, NASCAR’s Xfinity Series hit a low point on FOX and TNT’s The Dunk King had a modest dip in its second outing.
Another Decline For Formula 1
- The Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix drew 487,000 viewers on NBCSN last Sunday morning, down 10% from last year (543K) but up 7% from 2014 (455K). Viewership has now declined for four of five F1 races this season, with three down by double-digits. (via ShowBuzz Daily)
Xfinity Series Down at Dover
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Dover earned a 1.1 final rating and 1.6 million viewers on FOX last Sunday, down a tick in ratings and 11% in viewership from last year (1.2, 1.8M) and the lowest rated and least-watched race on broadcast since the current TV deal began last year since reacquiring rights (seven telecasts). It was the first Xfinity Series race to decline in viewership since Phoenix in March. (via Sports Business Daily)
Dunk King Has Modest Decline From Debut
- The second episode of TNT’s competition series The Dunk King scored 1.7 million viewers Wednesday night, down 7% from the first episode on Monday (1.8M). The decline is no surprise given its lead-ins were also down from Monday night, with Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals off 13% and Inside the NBA down 16%. (via ShowBuzz Daily)
