MLB on FOX tied a three-year ratings high but still could not crack the 2.0 mark.
Regional Major League Baseball action on FOX earned a 1.9 final rating and 2.9 million viewers last Saturday night, tying the network’s highest rating in the regular season since 2013. There was no telecast on the comparable weekend last year. FOX has not earned at least a 2.0 rating for regular season baseball since July 20, 2013.
Saturday’s telecast was also the second-most watched regular season window on FOX since 2013, behind a window in July of last year (2.94M to 2.92M).
Head-to-head, MLB on FOX easily topped the Premier Boxing Champions on NBC (0.8, 1.2M) and the finale of ESPN’s 30 For 30 miniseries O.J.: Made in America (1.0, 1.5M). It was no match for the competing Copa America semifinals on Univision, which pulled 5.4 million for Chile/Mexico and 3.1 million for Argentina/Venezuela.
Earlier in the day, Fox Sports 1 scored 629,000 for Rangers/Cardinals. There network did not air a window on the comparable weekend last year.
