With an unappealing blowout on the schedule, the SEC on CBS tied its worst rating in nearly three years.
Kentucky/Florida scored a 1.6 final rating and 2.5 million viewers on the SEC on CBS Saturday afternoon, down a tick in ratings and 2% in viewership from Georgia/Vanderbilt last year (1.7, 2.6M). There was no comparable window in 2014.
The Gators’ blowout win is tied as the lowest rated edition of the SEC on CBS since a Noon ET Georgia/Vanderbilt game in October 2013 (1.5), matching Missouri/Arkansas on Black Friday last year.
Head-to-head, the SEC on CBS trailed competing coverage of Tulsa/Ohio State on ABC (2.5, 4.0M). It was barely the top SEC game in its own timeslot, edging Western Kentucky/Alabama on ESPN2 (2.52M to 2.47M).
For posterity, Saturday’s game had also had a 1.6 overnight rating.
