FOX earned one of its top college football audiences of the season despite a sizable year-over-year decline.
Last Saturday’s Oklahoma/Texas Tech college football game had a 1.4 final rating and 2.3 million viewers on FOX, down a third in ratings and 30% in viewership from Utah/USC last year (2.1, 3.3M). There was no comparable window in 2014.
Despite the decline, the Sooners’ high-scoring win earned the second-highest rating and viewership on FOX this season — behind only Ohio State/Oklahoma in week three (3.4, 5.8M). The relatively strong performance came opposite tough competition from both Ohio State/Penn State on ABC (3.9, 6.5M) and Game 6 of the MLB NLCS on Fox Sports 1 (5.2, 9.7M).
Earlier in the day, Utah/UCLA had a 0.9 and 1.4 million. There was no comparable window last year.
Over on Fox Sports 1, Oklahoma State/Kansas had a 0.3 and 454,000 in the Noon ET window — down 50% in ratings and viewership from Kansas State/Texas last year (0.6, 904K) and down 70% and 72%, respectively, from Baylor/West Virginia in 2014 (1.0, 1.6M).
