Celebration Bowl Up From Last Year’s Debut
- Last Saturday’s Grambling/N.C. Central Celebration Bowl had a 1.8 final rating and 2.7 million viewers on ABC, up a tick in ratings and 6% in viewership from last year’s inaugural edition of the game between Alcorn State and North Carolina A&T. Grambling’s win earned a larger audience than all-but-one FBS bowl game through Thursday, the Las Vegas Bowl that aired immediately afterward. (via Sports Business Daily 12/23)
ISU GP Final Edges Last Year
- Coverage of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating final had a 0.8 final rating and 1.1 million viewers on NBC last Sunday, up a tick in ratings (from 0.7) and 6% in viewership (from 1.08M to 1.14M) compared to last year. The 2014 final also had 1.1 million, though exact figures were not available. (via SBD)
More Declines For NHL on NBCSN
- Capitals/Flyers had 565,000 viewers in the latest edition of NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry, down 10% from Penguins/Bruins last year (626K) but up 12% from Bruins/Wild in 2014 (506K). Of the 22 nationally televised NHL games this season that can be compared to last year, 17 have declined.
