Kansas’ early exit from the Big 12 Tournament was not good for ratings.
Iowa State-West Virginia scored 2.3 million viewers in Saturday’s Big 12 Tournament final on ESPN, down 5% from Kansas-West Virginia last year (2.4M) and down 13% from Iowa State-Kansas in 2015 (2.7M). Ratings were not immediately available.
The Cyclones’ win was the least-watched Big 12 final since the last time Kansas missed the game, Iowa State-Baylor in 2014 (1.7M). Overall, it was the third-least watched Big 12 title game in the past decade, ahead of 2014 and Kansas-Iowa State in 2013 (2.2M).
The Big 12 title game was the exception on an otherwise strong night for ESPN. The ACC Tournament final was the most-watched since 1998 and the Pac-12 title game hit a five-year high.
