Round of 16 action the following day had a a 0.8 (-5%) and 1.1 million (-6%).
IndyCar Ends ABC Run With Mixed Results
In other action last weekend, taped NHRA eliminations from Chicago scored a 0.54 rating and 865,000 viewers on FS1 immediately following NASCAR Cup Series action — up 59% in ratings and 62% in viewership from last year, when the race took place in July (0.34, 534K). Versus the same weekend last year, ratings and viewership fell 26% and 27% respectively (New Jersey: 0.7, 1.2M).
Finally, last Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race from Pocono (Pa.) had a 0.56 rating and 826,000 viewers on FS1 — down 40% in ratings and 44% in viewership from last year (1.0, 1.48M) and down 40% and 42% respectively from 2016 (1.0, 1.43M), both of which aired on the FOX broadcast network.
Yankees, MLB Draft, on the Upswing
Elsewhere in MLB, Thursday’s Tigers-Red Sox game had a 0.37 rating and 543,000 on ESPN — unsurprisingly down 29% and 28% respectively from Red Sox-Yankees last year (0.52, 543K).
Over on MLB Network, last Monday’s MLB Draft had 320,000 (+21%) and the largest audience for the event since at least 2012.
