“Tell Me A Story I Don’t Know” with George Ofman
In March of 2020, Marc Silverman’s world changed in a way he never imagined, as he details in part two of his interview with George Ofman. The father of two young boys whose career was riding high as a sport radio talk show now had to deal with cancer. “My dark thoughts were my kids were five and three at the time and will they know me? Will there be someone who replaces me? I’m thinking am I going to die?” After Silverman went public with his diagnosis on the show he co-hosts with former Chicago Bears wide receiver Tom Waddle, the outpouring of well wishers was overwhelming. “There are a lot of selfless people in this world and what that does for you is it lifts you up.”
Now, Silvy says he’s feeling much better. “I have energy now. A lot of people think when you’re in remission everything’s great. There’s a lot of guilt, there’s a lot of questions, there’s a lot of worry. The chemotherapy beats the hell out of your body. Right now I’m 99 percent energy and feeling right.” Right there beside him is his long time partner Waddle. “There no one I talk to more on a daily basis than Waddle, even more than my wife! When we first stated in 2007 he was a football guy who knew about the other sports but now knows all the sports so well.”
