TNT broadcaster Benny Parsons has died at the age of 65, following a long battle with lung cancer. The former NASCAR star was diagnosed in July. His words on his diagnosis last year:
In October, Parsons seemed to have beaten his cancer.
He wrote about his recovery on NBCSports.com, and had signed a new contract with TNT to call the six Nextel Cup races the network will televise this upcoming year. On the day after Christmas, he was hospitalized again, as a result of complications from the disease.
