For a fourth straight weekend, overnight ratings declined by double-digits for PGA Tour golf.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Honda Classic earned a 2.3 overnight rating on NBC Sunday afternoon, down 28% from Tiger Woods‘ second-place finish last year (3.2), but up 28% from 2011 (1.8).
The 2.3 is the fourth-lowest overnight for Sunday coverage of the tournament since at least 2000, ahead of only 2009, 2010 and 2011 (1.8 each year).
On Saturday, third round action earned a 1.6 overnight — down 19% from last year (1.9), but up a tick from 2011 (1.5).
The past eight PGA Tour telecasts on broadcast television (four straight tournaments) have had double-digit declines in overnight ratings.
