ABC earned a 2.8 final rating and 4.1 million viewers for the Heat/Knicks NBA regular season game last Sunday afternoon, down 15% in ratings and 18% in viewership from Knicks/Celtics last year (3.3, 5.0M), and down 7% and 14%, respectively, from Bulls/Heat in 2011 (3.0, 4.8M).
For some perspective, ABC’s lone Heat/Knicks matchup last season also drew a 2.8 and 4.1 million viewers.
Later Sunday, Thunder/Clippers drew a 2.8 and 4.2 million viewers — down 35% in ratings and 40% in viewership from Heat/Lakers last year (4.3, 7.0M), and down 13% and 17%, respectively, from Lakers/Spurs in 2011 (3.2, 5.1M).
Sunday’s games had the biggest declines of the season for the NBA on ABC.
