The season’s final chapter of the Connecticut/Notre Dame rivalry pulled in solid numbers on Sunday, but still declined from last year.
Sunday’s Connecticut/Notre Dame Women’s NCAA Tournament game drew 3.0 million viewers on ESPN, down 19% from Baylor/Stanford last year (3.8M), and down 7% from Notre Dame/Connecticut in 2011 (3.3M).
The game earned the smallest audience for the late national semifinal game since Connecticut/Stanford in 2009 (2.7M).
Earlier in the night, Louisville/California drew 2.3 million — down 23% from Notre Dame/Connecticut last year (3.0M), and down 10% from Texas A&M/Stanford in 2011 (2.5M).
