ABC had mixed results for an NBA playoff doubleheader last weekend.
Game 4 of the Heat/Bucks first round NBA playoff series drew a 3.8 final rating and 6.0 million viewers on ABC, down 16% in ratings and 14% in viewership from Heat/Knicks Game 4 last year (4.5, 7.0M), and down 10% and 15%, respectively, from Celtics/Knicks Game 4 in 2011 (4.2, 7.0M).
Though down from last year, Heat/Bucks ranked as the most-viewed game of the playoffs through Thursday’s action.
Earlier in the day, Game 4 between the Knicks and Celtics drew a 3.3 and 4.9 million viewers — up 18% in ratings and 15% in viewership from Bulls/Sixers Game 4 last year (2.8, 4.2M), and up 6% and down 3%, respectively, from Heat/Sixers Game 4 in 2011 (3.1, 5.0M).
The 3.3 rating is tied as the highest for an early afternoon playoff game on ABC since Hawks/Celtics Game 7 in 2008 (3.5).
