FX viewers will soon have the opportunity to spend a full day watching FOX Sports announcers Joe Buck and Tim McCarver.
Buck and McCarver will host an “All-Star Sunday” movie marathon on FX Sunday, July 12, two days before the 2009 MLB All-Star Game. The movie marathon includes recent fare such as Mr. 3000, Fever Pitch and The Benchwarmers, in addition to the premiere of the animated movie Everyone’s Hero.
The marathon will also include a look at the “Top 10 All-Star Plays.”
The movie marathon appears to be the product of a recent strategy session between FOX and MLB officials about increasing the ratings for the All-Star Game and World Series. One of the suggestions made at the time was to air baseball movies on FX Sunday afternoons, meaning ‘All-Star Sunday’ could be just the beginning.
