The NHL is staying with NBC for at least the next two seasons.
The NHL and NBC officially announced a two-year extension of their revenue sharing agreement on Wednesday. The extension will keep the NHL on NBC through the 2010-11 season, and will make NBC the NHL’s longest-tenured network television partner since the league moved to broadcast in ’95.
As in previous years, NBC will air the 2010 Winter Classic, which will feature the Flyers and Bruins from Boston’s Fenway Park, as well as five of the seven games of the Stanley Cup Finals.
With this extension, the NHL’s deals with both NBC and Versus will expire in 2011.
