The Midsummer Classic put up big ratings on FOX Tuesday night.
The 2009 MLB All-Star Game drew a 10.4/18 overnight rating on FOX, down 5% from an 11.0/18 for the first nine innings of last year’s game, but up 4% from a 10.0/17 in ’07. The 10.4 overnight is tied as the third-lowest for the All-Star Game since at least ’98.
Despite the decrease, the 10.4 overnight for the All-Star Game is the highest for a sporting event since Game 4 of the NBA Finals drew a 10.9 in June.
The All-Star Game drew a massive 37.0 rating in host-city St. Louis. By comparison, the ’08 All-Star Game drew a 17.1 rating in host-city New York.
