Mexico’s 5-0 win over the USA in the 2009 Gold Cup Final drew 5.4 million viewers on Univision Sunday. The match ranks as “highest-rated Gold Cup match ever in [Univision] history.”
In several large markets — including New York (#1), Los Angeles (#2) and Chicago (#3) — the match was the #1 program in its time period in the key adults 18-34 and 18-49 demos. In Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas, the match drew more viewers than the MLB All-Star Game earlier this month.
