The NHL Eastern Conference final had slight declines in viewership over the holiday weekend.
Game 5 of the Lightning/Rangers NHL Eastern Conference final drew 1.6 million viewers on NBCSN Sunday night, down 7% from Rangers/Canadiens last year (1.7M). There was no comparable game in 2013.
After the first three games of the series each had a double-digit increase in viewership, Game 5 was the second straight to have a year-over-year decline.
Game 4 on Friday night drew 1.5 million, down 4% from Canadiens/Rangers last year (1.6M) and down 47% from Penguins/Bruins in 2013 (2.9M). It was the least watched game of either conference final thus far (9 telecasts through Sunday).
