Mixed martial arts drew decent numbers on CBS Saturday night.
Saturday night’s Strikeforce telecast on CBS, featuring the Fedor Emelianenko/Brett Rogers bout, drew a 2.6 overnight rating. By comparison, the first EliteXC telecast on CBS last year drew a 2.7.
In primetime (9-11 PM), Strikeforce averaged a 2.3 rating (1.7 among adults 18-49) and 3.8 million viewers. The telecast finished #1 in its time period among adults 18-49 and 18-34 and men 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54.
Compared to the usual 9-11 PM Saturday night line-up on CBS, Saturday’s Strikeforce telecast was down 44% in ratings and 38% in viewership — but up 31% among adults 18-49, up 113% among adults 18-34, up 156% among men 18-49, and up 267% among men 18-34.
