The Warriors’ winning streak generated record ratings in the Bay Area. In other news, the Warriors’ opponents also set local ratings marks, and ESPN had declines for a pair of NBA games Friday night.
Warriors Set Local Records Against Celtics, Bucks
- Friday’s Warriors/Celtics NBA regular season game, the last of Golden State’s 24 straight wins, drew an 11.07 rating on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area — the network’s highest ever for a Warriors game, including postseason. The Warriors’ loss to the Bucks on Saturday night ranks second with a 9.96. Friday’s rating is the second-highest for any program in CSNBA history, trailing only an 11.83 for a Giants/Padres baseball game in October 2010. Warriors games are now averaging 7.41 rating on CSNBA, nearly on par with the network’s highest individual rating prior to this season — a 7.45 for a playoff game last April. (CSNBA)
Warriors’ Opponents Also Set Local Marks
- Comcast SportsNet New England drew an 8.55 rating for Warriors/Celtics, according to Sports Business Daily, the network’s highest ever for a Celtics game. Warriors/Bucks the following night had a 4.02 on Fox Sports Milwaukee, that network’s highest for a Bucks game since 2010. The Warriors previously played in Fox Sports Indiana’s highest rated Pacers game since April 2014 and Fox Sports Southeast’s top Hornets game since the start of last season.
