Sunday’s final round of the Honda Classic drew a 1.6 final rating and 2.3 million viewers on NBC, up 7% in ratings and viewership from last year (1.5, 2.2 mil), but down 24% in ratings from ’08 (2.1).
The 1.6 rating is the second-lowest ever for the final round of the Honda Classic, ahead of only last year’s record low.
To put the numbers in perspective, the final round of the Honda Classic drew a 3.4 rating as recently as 2002.
On Saturday, third round coverage of the Honda Classic drew a 1.2 final rating and 1.6 million viewers — flat in ratings, but down 3% in viewership from last year (1.2, 1.7 mil), and off 14% in ratings from 2008.
The 1.2 rating is tied as the lowest ever for third round coverage of the tournament.
