CBS drew solid numbers for the first of its two Elite Eight games on Sunday.
Michigan State’s close victory over Tennessee drew a 7.5 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, up 27% from Michigan St./Louisville last year (5.9), and up 32% from Memphis/Texas in ’08 (5.7).
The 7.5 overnight is the highest for the early Sunday Elite Eight window since Florida/Boston College in ’94.
This is just the third time in the past 11 years that the early Sunday Elite Eight telecast has drawn at least a 7.0 overnight.
Overnight ratings were unavailable for Saturday’s games.
