The drama surrounding ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews has taken another twist.
A Virginia resident sent violent e-mails about Andrews to The Dan Patrick Show on at least three separate occasions last month. The unidentified individual also sent a variety of sexual e-mails about Andrews beginning last September.
A spokesman for DirecTV, which airs the television simulcast of The Dan Patrick Show, said they “became aware of the threatening emails” on Tuesday, and “immediately contacted” authorities and Andrews’ lawyers.
However, Andrews’ lawyer Michael Grossman said he is “outraged that these emails did not come to our attention until now.”
The FBI “has been notified,” and Andrews is seeking beefed up security for her appearances on Dancing With the Stars.
