Rainout coverage of Goody’s Fast Relief 500 drew a 3.1 final rating and 4.9 million viewers on FOX from 1-2:30 PM Sunday.
Excluding the NCAA Tournament on CBS, the telecast was the highest rated, most-viewed sporting event of the weekend on broadcast.
For perspective, regular season NBA games are averaging a 2.4 rating on ABC, and regular season MLB telecasts averaged a 1.8 on FOX last season. The 3.1 rating also tops every single regular season college basketball game from the 2009-10 season.
