A week before heading into primetime for the first time in six years, baseball on FOX had yet another poor outing in the ratings.
Regional MLB coverage featuring Phillies/Brewers drew a 1.4 final rating on FOX last Saturday, down 13% from coverage featuring Mets/Giants last year (1.6) and down 22% from 2008 (1.8).
The 1.4 rating is tied as the lowest of the season for MLB on FOX. So far this season, four of the six MLB telecasts on the network have failed to draw even a 1.7 rating.
Saturday’s telecast barely edged the NHL on NBC (1.3) and the NASCAR Nationwide Series on ABC (1.3).
FOX enters this Saturday’s primetime telecast having drawn a rating of 2.0 or higher just 19 times in the past 52 telecasts (37%).
