A good game put up good ratings on NFL Network.
49ers-Rams had a 4.4 rating and 7.4 million viewers on NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football last night, up 38% in ratings and 47% in viewership from the channel’s second exclusive Thursday night game last season, Jaguars-Titans in Week 8 (3.2, 5.1M). Compared to its second game in 2015, Bills-Jets in Week 10, ratings fell 8% (from 4.8) and viewership 2% (from 7.6M).
Last year’s Week 3 Thursday night game, Texans-Patriots on CBS and NFL Network, had a 10.6 and 17.5 million.
NFL Network has now averaged 7.7 million viewers through two games this season, up 20% from its first two exclusive TNF windows last year, but down 5% from its first two windows in 2015 (8.2M).
As should be no surprise given the TV season has not yet started, TNF was the night’s top show on all of television in viewership and all the key adult demographics. Its 2.8 rating in adults 18-49 was up 56% from Jaguars-Titans last year (1.8).
