Recent sports TV ratings news, including IndyCar racing on ABC, the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship on CBS, and the NBA on TNT.
- The IndyCar Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg drew a 1.2 final rating and 1.840 million viewers on ABC March 27, up 100% in ratings and 126% in viewership from last year’s rained out coverage (0.6, 814K). Excluding the Indy 500, the race ranks as the most-viewed IndyCar telecast since the Honda 200 in July 2007 (2.432M).
- The March 26 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship Game drew a 1.0 final rating and 1.420 million viewers on CBS, up 25% in ratings and 26% in viewership from last year (0.8, 1.130M).
- Through 48 telecasts, TNT is averaging a 1.6 U.S. rating and 2.445 million viewers for NBA coverage, up 45% in ratings and 42% in viewership from last year (1.1, 1.724M). This is season is on pace to be the most-viewed ever on TNT, topping the current record high of 1.885 million viewers by 30%.
