The absence of Colts star Peyton Manning did not have an adverse effect on NBC’s Sunday Night Football ratings.
The Week 3 Steelers/Colts Sunday Night Football game earned a 13.2 overnight rating on NBC Sunday, up 2% from last year (NYJ/MIA: 13.0), and up 12% from 2009 (IND/ARI: 11.8).
As mentioned before, Manning did not play in Sunday’s game due to injury.
The 13.2 overnight is the lowest of the season for Sunday Night Football, trailing Saints/Packers (17.2) and Cowboys/Jets (16.9) in Week 1 and Eagles/Falcons (15.7) in Week 2.
Pittsburgh led all markets for Sunday’s game with a 48.5, followed by Indianapolis (40.7). Richmond, VA (20.0), Norfolk, VA (19.7), and New Orleans (18.8) rounded out the top five.
