- Dick Vitale: The ESPN college basketball analyst, recovering from throat surgery, will face another surgical procedure this week. Vitale will have prostate surgery on Thursday, a procedure that was delayed by a week due to bladder infections. Vitale told Michael Heistand of USA Today that his recent health situations have been a shock. “I’ve never been sick. Knock wood.”
- Dana Jacobson: The co-host of ESPN First Take apparently had too much fun at the Mike and Mike roast last week. Scott Cronick of Press of Atlantic City reports Jacobson “made an absolute fool of herself, swilling vodka from a Belvedere bottle, mumbling along and cursing like a sailor as Mike & Mike rested their heads in their hands in embarrassment.” In what must have been a surreal sight, comedian Eddie Griffin “came to the podium to defend her after she was booed by the crowd.”
- Roger Rasheed: The Australian Open analyst made a candid observation about Venus Williams during a live broadcast on Australia’s Channel 7. During a close-up replay focusing on Williams’ rear end, Rasheed remarked to his partners, including USA Network’s Tracy Austin, that it was “a pretty good sight.”
