- Bill Pidto: The longtime ESPN personality “no longer works” for the network, reports Eye on Sports Media. Pidto had been with ESPN since 1993.
- Paul Pierce: The NBA Finals MVP will co-host Mike and Mike in the Morning on Friday, alongside Mike Greenberg. Pierce will not be the only Celtic on the show, as owner Wyc Grousbeck, general manager Danny Ainge and coach Doc Rivers will each call in.
- Lin Miaoke: The Chinese child singer who appeared to sing during the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics was in fact lip-synching. The voice that actually sang “Ode to the Motherland” belonged to Yang Peiyi, who Chinese officials deemed not cute enough to perform at the ceremony. The music designer of the Opening Ceremony rationalized the decision by explaining, “[t]he child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feeling and expression.”
