Singleheader coverage on CBS drew the highest rating of any of the NFL telecast windows on Sunday.
Regional action featuring Steelers/Titans drew a 14.3/28 overnight rating on CBS from 1-4:15 PM Sunday, up 22% from comparable coverage in ’07, and the highest rating for a singleheader telecast on CBS since the network began airing NFL games again in 1998.
The 14.3 overnight surpassed the ratings for the late national game on FOX and Sunday Night Football on NBC. Additionally, the 14.3 was 79% higher than the 8.0/16 for the early game on FOX.
The late national game on FOX, Falcons/Vikings or Eagles/Washington, drew a 13.8/26 overnight, up 1% from last year. The 13.8 is the lowest overnight rating for the late national game since Week 3, when Steelers/Eagles drew a 13.5.
On NBC, an overtime tilt between the Panthers and Giants drew a 12.9/21 overnight rating, up 30% from last year, and the fourth-highest overnight of the year for Sunday Night Football.
