Like Boston, the city of Chicago was enthralled by the Bulls/Celtics playoff series.
Games 6 and 7 of the Bulls’ series against the Celtics drew massive ratings in Chicago. The Bulls’ series-ending Game 7 loss drew a combined 15.3 rating on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and TNT Saturday night. Ratings peaked at a 20.1 from 9:45-10 PM CT.
Meanwhile, Thursday night’s triple-overtime Game 6 drew a 13.7 on CSN Chicago and TNT, with the rating peaking at a whopping 22.5 from 10-10:15 PM CT.
Chicago’s ratings success mirrored Boston’s, where Games 6 and 7 drew ratings of 13.4 and 17.3, respectively, on CSN New England and TNT.
Overall, the entire Bulls/Celtics series averaged a 10.7 rating in Chicago. To put that in perspective, the Blackhawks’ first round series against the Flames averaged a 4.5.
