While the NBA Playoffs have been a success on TNT, ABC has not been as lucky.
Through six games, ABC is averaging a 3.0 rating for coverage of the 2009 NBA Playoffs, down 12% from a 3.4 through the same period last year, but up 7% from a 2.8 through the same point in ’07.
Last Sunday, Game 7 between the Heat and Hawks drew a 2.6 final rating, down 26% from a 3.5 for Hawks/Celtics Game 7 last year, but up 8% from a 2.4 for Nets/Cavaliers Game 1 in ’07.
Meanwhile, Game 1 between the Mavericks and Nuggets drew a 3.2, down 22% from a 4.1 for Jazz/Lakers Game 1 last year, and down 9% from a 3.5 for Spurs/Suns Game 1 in ’07.
