The Penguins/Capitals series continues to draw big numbers on Versus.
The Penguins’ Game 3 win drew 1.49 million viewers on Versus Wednesday night, 23% higher than the 1.21 million Versus drew for Monday’s Game 2, and the most-viewed second-round NHL playoff game on cable since 2002.
Versus is averaging 814,738 viewers for second-round NHL playoff coverage, up 38% from 590,299 through the same point in ’08.
The Penguins/Capitals series has not just been a hit on Versus. Game 1 of the series drew a 1.2/3 final rating on NBC last Saturday, up 71% from a 0.7 for Red Wings/Avalanche last year.
