- The NHL is “within a couple of weeks of announcing” a two-year extension of its television deal with NBC, reports the Sports Business Journal. The two-year extension would keep the NHL on NBC through 2011, the same year the league’s contract with Versus expires. - SportsCenter devoted just under 12 minutes of coverage to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Friday night, reports Sports Business Daily. The 12 minutes tops just the 9 minutes of coverage devoted to Game 6 of the series the previous Tuesday.
