After losing the British Open, Turner Sports was not about to lose its lone remaining major.
TNT will continue to air the PGA Championship through 2019, as part of an extension of Turner Sports’ rights deal with the PGA. Turner will also continue to operate PGA.com, and TNT will continue to air the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
TNT will air Thursday and Friday coverage of the PGA Championship, as well as early coverage on Saturday and Sunday.
The deal allows Turner to maintain a ‘major’ presence after losing rights to the British Open. Last year, ESPN acquired the British Open in eight-year deal that starts in 2010.
