Ratings and viewership increased by double-digits for all three Division Series games on TBS Thursday.
The Dodgers’ Game 2 win drew a 3.5 U.S. rating and 5.2 million viewers on TBS Thursday evening, up 27% in ratings and 23% in viewers from Brewers/Phillies Game 2 last year (2.7, 4.2 mil), but down 22% and 23%, respectively, from Yankees/Indians Game 1 in ’07 (4.5, 6.7 mil).
Cardinals/Dodgers Game 2 is tied as the second-highest rated NL playoff game on cable since ’03.
Meanwhile, Game 1 of the Red Sox/Angels series drew a 3.0 U.S. rating and 4.4 million viewers late Thursday night, up 15% in ratings and 10% in viewers from Dodgers/Cubs Game 2 last year (2.6, 4 mil), and up 15% and 19%, respectively, from Cubs/Diamondbacks Game 2 in ’07 (2.6, 3.7 mil).
The Angels’ win drew identical numbers to Game 1 between the same two teams last year.
Game 2 between the Rockies and Phillies brought up the rear with a 2.2 U.S. rating and 3 million viewers, up 10% in ratings and 13% in viewers from White Sox/Rays Game 1 last year (2.0, 2.6 mil), but down 4% and 10%, respectively, from Rockies/Phillies Game 2 in ’07 (2.3, 3.3 mil).
Overall, TBS is averaging a 3.1 U.S. rating and 4.5 million viewers through the first two days of the MLB Division Series, up 15% in ratings and viewers from last year.
